After I got my feet wet with my first experience at the Middle Eastern Bazaar, I was courageous enough to try three trade and craft shows during the pre Christmas season. I have to admit every show enlightened me with a different experience me as a vendor and taught me a different lesson too. Here are the shows I did:

–  Early Bird Christmas Wish List Show at Conexus Arts Centre on Nov. 2, 2013

– Francis Christmas Craft Sale, Francis, SK on Nov. 30. 2013

– Sunday Art Market at Cathedral Neighbourhood Centre on Dec. 22, 2013

Things I enjoyed:

– The variety of vendors at the Conexus show and at Sunday Art Market

– Visit by Santa at the Francis Craft Sale

– Sunday Art Market had a totally different vibe with artists creating art live and live entertainment with drum beats and innovative instruments

Lessons I learnt:

– Do your homework

– Network with other vendors and learn from their experiences

– Attend other shows. Even if you are not a vendor there, you can be one in the future

– Don’t invest in travelling to the rural towns just yet, if its your first year doing trade shows. It will be worth it when you have enough clients there.
